Serge Gnabry Injury: Bayern star set to miss second leg against Arsenal

Bayern Munich have confirmed that winger Serge Gnabry will miss the upcoming matches due to a hamstring injury. The 28-year old was pulled off in the second half when playing against his former team Arsenal in the quarterfinal of the Champions League.

It is not confirmed yet about how long Gnabry will be sidelined but it’s clear that he will miss the second leg at Allianz Arena next week. “FC Bayern must do without Serge Gnabry for the time being,” the club announced in their official statement. “The winger suffered a muscle strain in his left hamstring in the 2-2 draw at Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, as confirmed by a scan by the FC Bayern medical department.”

However, Bild reported that the treatment could take up three weeks for Gnabry to recover before returning to the pitch again.

Serge Gnabry Injury: Ruled out for the second time

This is the second time for the former Arsenal player to be rested due to injury. From December last year until mid February this year, he was out for a muscle treatment. Gnabry has played only 17 times since he spent more time with the medical team than he did with his teammates. He managed to score five goals across the competitions with the latest coming last night at the Arsenal game.

Injury disturbs Serge Gnabry’s on-pitch performance

Injury has played a crucial role in Gnabry’s downfall in terms of scoring this season. Statistically in the last two league seasons when the injury was not the issue, he managed to score 14 goals in the league whereas this season, he only struck three times.

Gnabry’s injury was an addition to Bayern’s list of injured players. Fortunately for FC Hollywood, the two rested players Aleksandar Pavlovic and Noussair Mazraoui are preparing their comeback with training separately from the first team.
