Russia vs Serbia Match Summary
The Serbians traveled to Moscow to face Russia’s national football team in an international friendly on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Russia managed a thumping 4-0 win over Serbia, marking their first international win against a European team since the invasion of Ukraine. Goals from Anton Mirantschuk, Maksim Osipenko, Aleksei Mirantschuk and Ivan Sergeyev secured an easy win for Valeri Karpin’s men.
Russia were banned from all competitive international matches by FIFA and UEFA and was also expelled from qualifying for Euro 2024 in Germany. Serbia’s national football team have used this match as a warm-up after they comfortably qualified for this summer’s tournament in Germany courtesy of a second-place finish in Group G.
