Roma vs Bologna Preview

  • Tournament: Serie A
  • Date: Sunday, November 10, 2024
  • Time: 2:00 pm GMT
  • Venue: Stadio Olimpico

Roma and Bologna will face each other after a difficult time in their respective European competitions. In the league it has also not been very good for Roma, under the management of Ivan Juric. They have lost three of their last four games to be placed at the 12th position in the league table.

They tried to recover twice in that game against Hellas Verona last week, but conceded a late goal to lose that game. A lot will be on the cards for them as if they go down to Bologna, they will record their worst Serie A start after 12 matches in the last two decades. In the Europa league they drew against Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday despite taking the lead first in the second half through Gianluca Mancini’s header. They currently stand at the 19th spot in the Europa League and is definitely below expectation from a team which has reached the semi-finals of the competitions in each of the past three years.

Juric is under tremendous pressure following the 3-2 defeat against one of his former club, Hella Verona. He has so far recorded only four wins in the last 11 games since succeeding Daniel De Rossi, and will expect to get into the international break with a victory.

On the other hand, Bologna are in a not a great position either but they might have an upper hand as they have now won two consecutive top-flight games against their capital counterparts and will be eyeing their third. Neither they have scored a goal nor they have been able to win a game in the in the Champions League following their midweek defeat to Monaco at Stadio Dall’Ara.

In the league they come into this game on the back of two back to back victories and have lost only once in Serie A this season. They currently are placed at ninth with 15 points from 10 games.
