Real Madrid risk losing promising goalkeeper for free in 2025

Real Madrid’s summer transfer window has been a busy one with the club securing major signings like Kylian Mbappe and Endrick for a combined fee of €47.5 million but now they are might need to prepare a transfer exit in the name of Andriy Lunin.

But despite their proactive approach in the market, the Spanish giants might be on the verge of losing a key asset for nothing.

Andriy Lunin set to leave Madrid next Summer

Real Madrid‘s backup goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is reportedly planning to see out the final year of his contract before leaving on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, the Ukraine international has drawn interest from top Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal. Still he seems determined to stay at Madrid for one more season even if it means limited playing time.

Lunin played a crucial role for Real Madrid last season stepping up when Thibaut Courtois was sidelined due to injury. His performances were commendable helping the team secure important victories.

But despite his contributions, Lunin found himself back on the bench once Courtois returned with Carlo Ancelotti favoring the Belgian star for the UEFA Champions League final.

As Lunin enters what could be his final season with Los Blancos it’s uncertain how much playing time he’ll get. Unless Courtois faces another injury setback Lunin might be limited to cup matches making it difficult for him to showcase his talent on a consistent basis.

With Real Madrid at risk of losing Lunin for free fans and pundits alike are left wondering if the club should have done more to secure his future or capitalized on the interest from other clubs this summer.

The upcoming season will likely be his last chance to prove his worth to Madrid but whether that will be enough to change the club’s stance remains to be seen.
