Real Madrid not willing to fork out €60 million for Alphonso Davies
The 23-year-old defender has established himself as one of the best full-backs and there’s uncertainty growing over his future at Bayern Munich. His contract with the Bundesliga giants expires in 2025 and Davies is unwilling to sign a contract extension.
The Canadian full-back has won multiple trophies with the Bavarian including the treble in the 2019/20 season and has been a pivotal figure for the side over the years. He has turned out 184 times for Bayern, bagging nine goals and 28 assists in the process.
But Davies faces an uncertain future as he’s entered the final 15 months of his contract and has ignited the interest of several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich keen to tie Davies in new contract
The Canadian defender has only 15 months left on his Bayern deal and the club have reportedly made a final offer last week. According to Sky Sports Germany, Bayern wants Alphonso Davies to decide on the offer by the end of this week.
In case Bayern Munich fails to extend his contract, a summer departure seems more likely for Davies who wants a salary worth €20 million/per year in his new contract.
The agent of Alphonso Davies was spotted in Barcelona in February, giving rise to rumours that Barcelona could hijack a deal. But Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Barcelona are not in a financial position to sanction a deal for the Canadian full-back.
“The agent of the Bayern Munich left-back was in Barcelona but at the moment, I’m not aware of concrete negotiations with Barca,” Romano told CaughtOffside.
“They have Alejandro Balde in that position and Alphonso wants an important salary, either from Bayern with a new deal, or with Real Madrid or any other club. So, for Barca, it’s really complicated to offer that.”
How much does Bayern Munich want for Alphonso Davies?
The Bavarians are reluctant to meet Davies’ salary demands of €20 million/per year, suggesting a summer departure is on the cards for the defender.
Bayern Munich are reportedly seeking a sum of €60-70 million for the left-back but Real Madrid are reluctant to pay such an exorbitant amount as Davies will enter the final year of his contract in the summer.
Real Madrid are not willing to spend more than €40 million for the defender and the two clubs may end up agreeing on a transfer fee that will benefit both parties this summer.
