Tottenham Triumphs Over Bayern Munich, Secures Radu Dragusin in €30m Deal
Tottenham Hotspur have successfully fended off competition from Bayern Munich to secure the signing of central defender Radu Dragusin in a substantial €30 million (£25.8 million) deal. Spurs strengthened their bid overnight, outshining Bayern in the pursuit of the 21-year-old Romania international.
Dragusin, known for his versatility to also play as a right-back, is set to undergo a medical in London on Wednesday. Upon completion, he will sign his contract, becoming Tottenham’s second January signing following Timo Werner.

As part of the deal, full-back Djed Spence will head in the opposite direction, spending the remainder of the season on loan at Genoa. Tottenham will continue covering Spence’s wages, and Genoa retains an option to purchase him for approximately €10 million in June. Spence, who recently returned from a loan spell at Leeds, adds depth to Genoa’s squad.
The acquisition of Dragusin comes at a guaranteed cost of €25 million, with additional easily achievable add-ons. This move marks a profitable venture for Genoa, who initially secured Dragusin from Juventus for just over €5 million, along with add-ons, after an impressive loan stint.

Although Bayern Munich attempted to hijack Tottenham’s pursuit with a competitive bid, they will now redirect their focus to other targets for the central defender position. Notably, Bayern has an existing agreement on a contract with Tottenham’s Eric Dier.
