Pep Guardiola predicts new Man Utd signings to boost top four chances
Pep Guardiola has shared his thoughts on Manchester United’s four new signings, predicting they will provide the momentum needed to push the team into the Premier League’s top four this season.
United, who began their campaign with a 1-0 win against Fulham, have brought in Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui this summer.
Mazraoui made his full debut in the win over Fulham, with Zirkzee coming off the bench to score the match-winner. De Ligt also featured as a substitute, while Yoro, who is recovering from surgery was introduced to the Old Trafford crowd on crutches.

What Pep Guardiola said?
Speaking to reporters Guardiola expressed confidence in United’s ability to challenge for the top spots. “The first target is to finish in the top four,” he said, highlighting the intense competition in the Premier League. “I know the signings of United; they are going to take the momentum and they will be there.”
He also mentioned that Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool, and other top clubs will make the race tougher than ever. “Six or seven teams will be there, and if you drop a little bit, you will be away. This is the reality,” Guardiola added.
Last season, United finished eighth, their worst finish in the Premier League era. With the new signings and Guardiola’s prediction, the pressure is on Erik ten Hag to guide United back to the Champions League spots, which is a minimum target for this season.
