Paraguayan Prodigy Diego Leon set join Man United as the Ruben Amorim’s first signing
The Premier League giants Man United have officially made their first-ever signing in Ruben Amorim’s era, the 17-year-old left back Diego Leon from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno is on his way to arrive at Old Trafford in the summer of 2025.
The talented South American defender has agreed to join the English club on a reported deal worth £3 million earlier in December. However, Leon would only join the Red Devils when he turns 18 in the summer as per terms agreed.
The highly rated teenager has been making a name for himself in his homeland and is being considered as one of the brightest talents to have emerged from Paraguay. Leon can potentially solve the struggle of United as they are on the lookout for a promising left-back.
Diego Leon’s transfer aligns with the long-term vision of Man United owners IENOS and Ruben Amorim. Fascinatedly, the young defender will also become the first Paraguayan to don the United colours.
