Oriol Romeu set to join Girona on loan

Barcelona has agreed to let veteran midfielder Oriol Romeu join Girona on a season-long loan who was brought in last summer to replace the legendary Sergio Busquets in the midfield pivot.

Romeu initially impressed in the first half of the 2023/24 campaign under manager Xavi but a downfall in his form and costly mistakes pushed him out of the starting XI in the second half of the season.

Romeu has accepted as @tjuanmarti reports, he’s set for medical tests this weekend.

He will now return to Girona where he enjoyed tremendous success before arriving at Camp Nou last summer. An official announcement could be expected by this weekend.
