Oleksandr Zinchenko, born on 15 December 1996, is a professional footballer from Ukraine, who plays as a left-back or midfielder. He currently plays for Arsenal football club in the Premier League season 2023/24. He has played a total of five seasons so far for Manchester City.

Zinchenko was born on 15 December 1996, in Radomyshl, Ukraine. Zinchenko began his career in the Russian Premier League, with the football club “Ufa”. After a while, he joined the Manchester City in 2016. In his starting days, he began as an attacking midfielder but eventually played as a left-back. 

Zinchenko won a total of four Premier League titles; four EFL cups and one FA cup. Finally, in 2022 he signed a contract with the Arsenal football club.

• Early Career: Born in Radomyshl, Zinchenko became the captain of his school’s youth team. In 2013 he scored a goal against Manchester United in the 2013-14 UEFA Youth League. Zinchenko spent some months in the amateur leagues in Moscow. In 2015 he signed a contract with Ufa football club and made his Russian Premier League debut for Ufa football club in 2015 against FC Krasnodar. Zinchenko’s career has a long span with numerous football clubs.

• Manchester City: Zinchenko played five seasons for the Manchester City football club. He played 128 matches and played for 9243 minutes. In 2016 Zinchenko signed a contract with the football club Manchester City.

He also became the youngest player in Ukraine to score an international goal at the age of 19 years. He was included in Ukraine’s squad for Euro 2016 league and appeared as a substitute. 

He also became the youngest player captain in the history of Ukraine in a match against France in the year 2021. In Euro 2020 he was included in the squad. Zinchenko represented his national team of U21 eight times and U19 team, six times. He also represented his U17 national team, four times.
