OFFICIAL: Orel Mangala completes loan move to Everton

Premier League giants Everton have completed the transfer of Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala on a season-long loan after completing his medical on Friday evening. The 26-year-old primarily plays as a central midfielder but can also deputise in the holding position.

The Belgium international joined the French club from Nottingham Forest earlier this summer and remains contracted with Lyon until the summer of 2028.

“I feel really happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started,” Mangala told Everton club media.

“Everton is a big club. When I’ve played against Everton in the past, I’ve always felt there is a big fanbase here with a lot of passion for their club so it was an easy decision for me to come here.“
