OFFICIAL: Kepa Arrizabalaga joins Bournemouth on a season-long loan

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has completed his season-long loan move to Bournemouth while also extending his contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2026. His contract with the West London giants was due to expire next summer.

His deal with Bournemouth does not include an obligation to make the move permanent next summer. The Spaniard spent the last season on loan at Real Madrid where he won the La Liga and Champions League.

Kepa became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when he moved from Athletic Club to Chelsea in August 2018 for £71 million. He will now reunite with his former teammate and Cherries head coach Andoni Iraola.

“We are delighted to bring a player of Kepa’s calibre to AFC Bournemouth,” said Cherries chief executive Neill Blake.

“We were aware of his availability and were keen to take the opportunity to bring him to the club on loan.

“We believe he will be an exciting addition to our talented goalkeeping department.”
