Official: Chelsea signs 19-year-old talent Mathis Amougou from Ligue 1

Premier League outfit Chelsea have roped in promising 19-year-old midfielder Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne on a permanent move to the English capital. He has signed an eight-year contract with the Blues and will soon join the team’s training with his team-mates.

This season, the French Youth International has cemented his spot as a starter for the French club, making 17 appearances for Saint-Etienne in the French top-division league. The young midfielder made his debut his senior team debut appearance for Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 last season.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been capped for France across various youth groups. Amougou voiced his joy stating, “I’m very happy, It’s an honour for me to sign for such a big club like Chelsea. They believe in young players and the process they have in place to develop us is fantastic.”
