OFFICIAL: Arsenal winger Charles Sagoe Jr joins Shrewsbury Town
The 20-year-old winger completed his season-long loan move to League One side Shrewsbury Town after signing a two-year contract extension with Arsenal until the summer of 2027. His previous contract was due to expire next summer.
Charles Sagoe Jr spent the second half of last season on loan with Swansea City in the Championship, but made only two substitute appearances. He made his debut for Arsenal’s first team in the 1-0 win over Brentford in the Carabao Cup last season. Shrewsbury Town managed Paul Hurst explains his relief following the youngster’s arrival.
“I’m really pleased to get Charles Sagoe Junior on board because I think we have been lacking options in that wide area,” Hurst said.
“He is a player that we have been after for some time – we were interested in him during the January window.”
