On Matchday 3 of the Major League Soccer, eastern conference side NY Red Bulls will take on western conference FC Dallas. The residents of Red Bull Arena have started their campaign well, winning four points out of a possible six. The Red Bulls come into the game on the back of a narrow 1-2 win against Houston away from home. Meanwhile, their first game ended in a draw against Nashville. Gaffer Sandro Schwarz will be happy with his squad, especially with how quickly the new signings have fit into his set-up. RB Leipzig veteran Emil Forsberg finally decided to leave Leipzig and arrived in New York in December. In his first two games in the MLS, the midfielder has demonstrated his creative ability.
Meanwhile, visiting the Red Bull Arena are FC Dallas. FC Dallas started the season on a high note with a victory against San Jose. However, they endured a heartbreaking 1-2 defeat against Montreal last weekend. The Bulls have signed Emil Forsberg from Leipzig. Red Bulls also signed Noah Elle from Malmo and right-winger Dennis Gjengaar from Odds Ballklubb. However, even early on in the season the Red Bulls have suffered injuries.
Against FC Dallas, NY Red Bulls will be without right-winger Serge Ngoma. His hamstring injury will see him remain on the sidelines till the end of March. Goalkeeper Ryan Meara will also miss the tie at home against Dallas with a groin strain. Academy player Peter Stroud has played both games till now this season, but sustained a knock. He might be unavailable for the game against Dallas. Right-back Kyle Duncan will be missing in action for Red Bull as well with his hamstring injury.
FC Dallas:
The Texan boys come into the game with a long list of injuries as well. Center back Sebastien Ibeagha sustained an injury after the game against San Jose and is unlikely to return for the tie against Red Bulls. Dallas will rue the absence of left back Marco Farfan who sustained an injury right before the start of the season.
