Nottingham Forest Poised to Unleash Manchester City Prodigy’s Hidden Potential
Nottingham Forest have reportedly launched a bold loan move for Ajax’s Portuguese wonder Carlos Borges, affectionately known as ‘Forbs’.
Fabrizio Romano, the transfer guru, has spilt the beans on Forest’s advanced talks to secure the pacey winger, who has found limited game time at Ajax this season.
Ajax, willing to let the Manchester City academy product leave for the remainder of the campaign, seems to have found a willing taker in Nottingham Forest.
The 19-year-old, who dazzled with Manchester City’s U21s, emerged as the top scorer in Premier League 2 during the 22/23 season, boasting an impressive tally of 21 goals and 11 assists in 24 appearances.
Despite his stellar stint with City’s youth setup, Borges has faced a challenging season in Amsterdam, scoring only once in 16 games, with just six starts to his name.

Forest, led by Portuguese tactician Nuno EspÃrito Santo, are now on the verge of providing the talented winger with a much-needed platform to reignite his career.
Borges, with his lightning pace and composure in high-pressure situations, could be the missing piece in Forest’s attacking puzzle. The deal could see him reunite with fellow attacking prospect Giovanni Reyna from Borussia Dortmund, as Forest sets its sights on the US international.
As Nottingham Forest aims to shake up their squad with these audacious moves, all eyes are on Carlos Borges, the former Manchester City wonderkid, poised to bring a burst of energy and trickery to the City Ground.
