Nottingham Forest vs West Ham United Player Ratings: Dream run continues for Nuno’s side as they crush Hammers

Nottingham Forest have climbed up the ladder to third position in the Premier League table after convincingly beating West Ham United with three goals to nil at home. Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Ola Aina scored one each, extending the side’s three-win streak in the league.

West Ham, on the other hand, are stranded 14th on the table and have failed to extend their positive run after beating Manchester United in the previous match. To make things worse for The Hammers, they were down to 10 men after Edson Alvarez was sent off minutes before the break.

Goalkeeper

Matz Sels – 6.9

One save throughout the whole 90 was enough given the fact that Forest dominated the ball possession so West Ham found it hard to even break into the Forest’s box

Defenders

Ola Aina – 7.9

Aina kept showing himself as one of those full-backs that should be anticipated. Not only did he help Forest both defending and attacking but he scored as well.

Nikola Milenković – 7.1

He made four clearances and one tackle during the game as Rui Pedro trusted him to play full until the final whistle.

Murillo – 7.1

As well as Milenkovic, Murillo managed to defend the box well as he collected five clearances during his 90-minute appearance.

Àlex Moreno – 7.7

He ran back-and-forth down the flank, posing threats for West Ham who were clueless on how to deal with Forest.

Midfielders

Ryan Yates – 6.8

The captain managed to pull his team together and handled West Ham well, particularly in the midfield.

Nicolás Domínguez – 7.5

Passing was his game as Dominiguez delivered 89 per cent of his passes successfully and he played 90 minutes without making a single dribble attempt.

Morgan Gibbs-White – 7.4

MGW filled the midfield really well, covering both the front line and the middle of the pitch itself.

Forwards

Anthony Elanga – 6.8

He may not scored a goal like Hudson-Odoi and Wood did but Elanga made one key pass which helped Forest to put constant pressure on the opponents.

Callum Hudson-Odoi – 8.5

No doubt he was Forest’s best player of the game. Apart from the goal he scored, the former Chelsea winger only failed to pass twice from 50 attempts.

Chris Wood – 7.7

Chris Wood and forest are meant to be, that is also the case with Wood and Forest today. What makes it special was the New Zealander scored a goal from his only shot-on-goal attempt.

Substitutions

Elliot Anderson – 7.8

Despite playing only 27 minutes, Anderson managed to deliver one assist and brought Forest left West Ham behind.

Jota Silva – 6.6

During his 27-minute appearance, Silva touched the ball nine times and delivered four successful passes.

Taiwo Awoniyi – 6.5

Awoniyi’s playing time in this match was limited as he only touched the ball twice, one of them was a shot.

Ramos Sosa – N.A

Eric da Silva Moreira – N.A

Manager

Nuno Espírito Santo

The Portuguese won in every aspect today as all of his plans worked out well.

West Ham United Player Ratings vs Nottingham Forest

Goalkeeper

Lukasz Fabianski – 6.2

Conceding three goals was enough to show that it was not the best day in the office for Fabianski.

Defenders

Maximilian Kilman – 7

Despite West Ham playing badly at the Forest ground, Kilman was an exception. He covered every inch of the pitch, sending tackles and intercepting the opponents’ passes.

Jean-Clair Todibo – 6.9

The once-believed wonderkid struggled to deal with Forest’s ball inside the box.

Konstantinos Mavropanos – 6.5

He made four clearances, two interceptions and two tackles. But those efforts were not enough to earn West Ham even a point at the opponents’ ground.

Midfielders

Edson Álvarez – 5.5

The red card ruined it for both him and West Ham. Before being sent off, Alvarez won four duels, two on the ground and two in the air.

Guido Rodríguez – 6.2

He only played one half and there was a reason behind it. He found it hard to deal with the opponents’ game plan.

Emerson – 6.8

Emerson played on the flank side, working things up alongside Summerville and Kilman. However, Forest was on the too-good side today.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.8

The former Crystal Palace guy put alternative options on the flank but it was not enough to break Forest’s defence.

Forwards

Crysencio Summerville – 6.3

Not a single shot and successful dribble attempt during his 45-minute appearance, let alone a shot-on-target which caused Forest trouble.

Lucas Paquetá – 6.7

Paqueta was just being Paqueta with his magic on the ball. However, he couldn’t help West Ham to at least score a goal.

Jarod Bowen – 7.4

Not only shot which went on and off target, Bowen also made five successful dribble attempts which helped West Ham to cause a little trouble for Forest.

Substitutions

Carlos Soler – 6.3

He came in the second half with the hope of giving changes to the team which didn’t happen.

Michail Antonio – 6.7

He was expected to break the deadlock for West Ham but ended up struggling to find the back of the net in the second half.

Andy Irving – 6.8

Replacing Emerson was a tricky decision by Lopetegui but he still did it anyway. The result was Irving touched the ball only 12 times and delivered six passes out of it.

Manager

Julen Lopetegui

He was outplayed by Nuno Santos for the whole game. None of his plans worked out and now West Ham have to fight to climb up the league standings.
