Noni Madueke shuts down social media criticism for Chelsea players ahead of huge United, City clashes
Chelsea football club will have a huge April in prospect in their season as they face Manchester City in the FA Cup while trying to end the season in a respectable position in the Premier League. Once again the Blues have faced a difficult season and could yet again finish in the bottom half of the table if results go against them. With social media platforms seeing a huge uproar from the fans for poor performances, forward Noni Madueke has opined on the same, suggesting is difficult to excuse people whom he can’t control.
Madueke defends Chelsea from social media criticism
“We’re in a social media era where it is very difficult to please people. I’m not really that bothered, I don’t care to watch it. I just focus on myself, my teammates and try to do the best I can every time I get an opportunity,” Madueke said while addressing the social media effect.
Chelsea have been at the gunpoint of social media trolls for the last two seasons having failed to make any significant impact under the ownership of Todd Boehly. They finished 12th league last season and thus failed to clinch a spot in European football. Adding to those woes, Chelsea are now on the brink of another similar season where they can still finish at the bottom of the table and at the time are 11th in the standings.
The five-time Premier League winners have gone through a lot of transitions in the last two years and have seen the majority of the core replaced or left for several big leagues. Injuries have also affected Chelsea’s season which has not helped the manager to pick his best Playing XI.

Can Chelsea reach European football next season?
Despite the poor run in the season, Chelsea could yet finish the season with a European place and silverware. A win against Manchester City in the FA Cup semis coupled with another win in the final could see them land the trophy and clinch a place in the Europa League, no matter where they finish in the league.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side is next in action on Saturday when they take on struggling Burnley at Stamford Bridge. However, safety within five points of their reach, the West London outfit is likely to face tough competition in their next Premier League outing. Chelsea also have Manchester United on their schedule, a game as important for the Blues as for the Red Devils. A defeat for either side could end their hopes of top European football next season.
