Newcastle United Transfer News: Eddie Howe confirms two deals for the Magpies
Newcastle United have a transfer boost for the upcoming season after manager Eddie Howe revealed the news. The Magpies struggled to replicate their form of last season’s form, sitting eighth with 40 points.
Howe, however, has set his eyes on the next season already, confirming a one-year extension for Jamaal Lascelles. The Derby-born defender has been with the club for eight years since coming from Nottingham Forest back in 2015.

Newcastle United Transfer News: Jamaal Lascelles has “really developed”
Lascelles broke into the first team after Sven Bowman’s knee injury. Howe found a perfect replacement in Lascelles and the player has played a pivotal role for the team so far.
“He has a contract with us next season,” Howe said via TalkSport. “He’s done incredibly well as a leader and a captain of the group.
“His game has really developed, and he’s played an important part of the season, and when he’s played, he’s been excellent.”
But the club captain is not the only name secured as Lewis Hall is finalizing his permanent move from Chelsea. Hall came as a loanee, but Newcastle are preparing £28 million to sign the 19-year-old for many years to come.

“I’m preparing for Lewis to be here for many years,” Howe added. “I believe in him. He was brought here for the long term. There’s no magic wand — sometimes you just need patience, which I know is a rare commodity.”
Hall is yet to show the best out of him despite being the fans’ favorite. He only appeared in eleven matches for Newcastle this season, scoring one in the Carabao Cup fourth round against Manchester United.
