Newcastle United lay down the return date for midfielder Sandro Tonali
As per a recent report on the official website of the Premier League club Newcastle United, Toons’ star midfielder Sandro Tonali is set to mark his return to competitive football. The club has embarked on a statement laying out the concrete details.
“Newcastle United can announce that Sandro Tonali will return to selection on Wednesday 28th August 2024 following the conclusion of his ten-month ban from competitive football”.

The report further inflicts that Newcastle United has received the formal confirmation from the FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio) that Tonali’s sanction is due to run till August 27.
As of now, it is expected that Newcastle will face Nottingham Forest away from home in the second round of the Carabao (EFL) Cup match within the new week beginning on Monday, August 26. However, the exact date and time of the clash remains yet to be disclosed.
After that Toons will host Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League match on September 1 at St. James Park. Availability of Sandro Tonali though looks unlikely for the Carabao (EFL) Cup game, a Premier League return for the Italian could be witnessed at the Spurs game.
