List of The Most Expensive Goalkeepers in FPL this season

1. David Raya

David Raya is the most expensive FPL goalkeeping option this time at £5.5m. Now Arsenal’s undisputed number one, he has enjoyed a tremendous debut campaign, claiming the Golden Glove with 16 clean sheets.

The Spaniard’s average of 4.2 points per game is impressive, making him a strong contender for any FPL team. While premium defenders might be tempting, Raya offers a cost-effective route into Arsenal’s solid backline. Expect another Golden Glove campaign. Raya racked up 135 points last season.

2. Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker is probably the most popular premium goalkeeper option at £5.5m. As Liverpool’s goalkeeper, he offers consistent points through both clean sheets and save points. While his points per game at 3.8 might not be as high as Raya’s, he is widely regarded as the best keeper in the league.

Liverpool’s defensive structure under Arne Slot needs to be seen though so it’s probably advisable to wait a few weeks before selecting him. The Brazilian achieved 107 points last season in just 28 starts.

3. Ederson Moraes

Ederson Moraes is another premium goalkeeper option in FPL priced at £5.5m. It is important to caveat everything about Ederson by saying that it is still a possibility that he will leave Manchester City for Saudi Arabia. But if he does stay, at an average of 3.4 means he is a regular bet for points.

While City’s strong defense promises clean sheet potential, the premium spot could be allocated to attacking assets. Moreover with City’s assets, choosing to waste one of their spots on a keeper isn’t the best choice perhaps.

4. Stefan Ortega

Stefan Ortega is a very interesting option in FPL this time, valued at £5.5m. If Ederson departs, Ortega’s value could skyrocket, making him a potential differential pick. However, if Ederson is to stay then he won’t be playing many minutes in which case given his high value, he won’t be a good pick at all. The German averages 2.4 points a game but the sample size is very low.

5. Emiliano Martínez

Emiliano Martínez is a solid mid-priced goalkeeper option at £5.0m. As Aston Villa’s undisputed number one, he offers consistent points through saves and potential clean sheets. Martínez’s penalty-saving ability and impressive shot-stopping means he is a guarantee for points.

The Lions’ defensive structure under Unai Emery is a very solid roo. The Argentine averages 3.4 points a game and he will likely be the most chosen goalkeeper. The 31-year-old picked up 115 points last season.

6. Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford is also a solid mid-priced goalkeeper option at £5.0m albeit more risky than Martínez. Everton’s defensive solidity under Sean Dyche has improved thus enhancing Pickford’s clean sheet potential.

That being said they still concede a fair few chances, so Pickford does end up getting a lot of save points and bonuses. While not a premium option, Pickford provides good value for money and can be a strong differential choice for your FPL team.

He averages a massive 4 points a game, one of the highest on the list. Pickford was the top-scoring goalkeeper last season as he recorded 153 points.

7. Bernd Leno

Bernd Leno is a budget-friendly goalkeeper option at £5m. The Fulham side Leno plays for isn’t great defensively, so a lot of his 3.5-point average has been because of save points and bonus points.

Leno regularly tops the charts for most saves made. Fulham however have lost their centre backs so they need to be a little better in the market for Leno to be as attractive an option in FPL.

8. André Onana

André Onana is a solid mid-priced goalkeeper option at £5.0m. Onana is a very interesting option. On the one hand, you could well say that he is one of the best keepers in the world. However, he is prone to some occasional howlers.

Also, it’s worth keeping in mind that last season Manchester United were conceding shots at a crazy rate, so Onana picked up a lot of save points as well. He averaged 3.5 points per game.

9. Nick Pope

At £5.0m, Nick Pope is an exciting FPL option too and he’s definitely going to be among the most popular picks. Newcastle United are a solid defensive unit and despite his occasional injury struggles, they have stuck with him and he has performed.

He averaged 3.8 points a game last campaign and one can expect similar numbers this time around too.

10. Guglielmo Vicario

Guglielmo Vicario is a very solid goalkeeper option at £5.0m. Like Martínez and Pope, Vicario is expected to be a very popular option too but this could be a double-edged sword.

Tottenham Hotspur aren’t the most reliable defensively and while the Italian is a very good shot-stopper, things could easily turn out to be tricky. He only averaged 2.9 points last year, one of the lowest on this list.
