Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool at the end of the season like Jurgen Klopp, confirms Ex-Premier League star

While Mohamed Salah did sign a multi-million-pound contract extension with Liverpool in the summer of 2022, the Egyptian has been consistently linked with a move away since then. That was especially the case in the 2023 summer transfer window with several clubs from the Saudi Pro League keen on signing him. However, no move materialized and in the end, Salah stayed at Anfield although reports have indicated that he could leave at the end of the 2023/24 season.

The Saudi Pro League continues to be his top destination especially after Al-Ittihad reportedly made a £150 million bid for the 31-year-old in the summer. While Liverpool rejected that offer, Mido has revealed that the Egyptian has signed a contract with a Saudi Pro League club. The former West Ham and Tottenham star revealed the news on X although he never announced the club or the fee.

“Mohamed Salah will be in the Saudi League next season. Contracts have been signed,” Mido wrote on X.

However, while Salah has consistently been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League over the last six months, the 31-year-old has remained committed to Liverpool. He even, reportedly, rejected the move to Al-Itthiad in the summer as reports indicated that he wanted to see out his contract. The Egyptian’s current deal runs till 2025 but with Jurgen Klopp set to leave at the end of the 2023/24 season, the situation could change.

Reports have indicated that Liverpool are planning another revamp with Salah’s potential departure already on their minds. This also comes in light of reports that have indicated that several Saudi Pro League clubs plan to raid Premier League clubs yet again next summer. Salah features heavily on several shortlists alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Son Heung-Min. However, nothing has been confirmed by the 31-year-old forward, who is enjoying another stellar season with Liverpool.

The Reds sit at the top of the Premier League table, with Salah contributing to 24 goals in just 21 league appearances. However, the forward has been out with a hamstring injury he suffered during the AFCON and while he made a scoring return against Brentford, he suffered another setback. But Klopp revealed that Salah’s latest injury isn’t as serious as many believed and he could be back soon.
