When does MLS 2025 Regular Season Start?
Major League Soccer today revealed the schedule and broadcast information for the 2025 MLS regular season. Along with commemorating the introduction of the league’s 30th team, San Diego FC, in its 30th season, the MLS schedule honors the inaugural year and various classic MLS original games.
MLS action comes back to MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in 2025, with all 510 matches accessible in one exclusive venue with no blackouts across more than 100 countries and regions worldwide. New for this upcoming season, MLS Season Pass will showcase a highlighted game on Sunday nights featuring enhanced production and dedicated studio programming. 30th MLS Season
All 30 MLS teams will be competing as MLS opens its 30th season campaign during the MLS is Back opening weekend on Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23. The reigning Supporters’ Shield winners Inter Miami CF will face New York City FC in a season-opening Saturday afternoon match at Chase Stadium, while the following day, San Diego FC will launch their inaugural season at Dignity Health Sports Park against the defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy.

MLS Rivalry Week
MLS Rivalry Week will take place over two matchdays from May 14-18, highlighting the league’s most historic and intense rivalry matchups.
MLS Rivalry Week kicks off on Wednesday, May 14, with St. Louis CITY SC hosting Sporting Kansas City at Energizer Park. The excitement continues on Saturday, May 17, with six rivalry matches including New York City FC welcoming the New York Red Bulls at Citi Field, and in one of the oldest soccer rivalries in the United States, the Portland Timbers will host Seattle Sounders FC at Providence Park in a Cascadia Cup showdown.
The Rivalry Week concludes on Sunday, May 18, with Orlando City SC visiting Chase Stadium to compete against Floridian rival Inter Miami CF and LAFC facing their crosstown rivals LA Galaxy away in the highly anticipated El Tráfico.

MLS Season Pass on Apple TV
MLS Season Pass on Apple TV will keep broadcasting every MLS match live during the season, accompanied by comprehensive studio coverage. The well-liked whip-around studio show, MLS 360, delivers live updates from each active match along with expert analysis in both English and Spanish. The pregame and postgame studio shows, MLS Countdown and MLS Wrap Up in English, along with MLS La Previa and MLS El Resumen in Spanish, will return featuring complete previews and postgame analysis and insights covering all matchday activities.
MLS Season Pass will additionally continue to showcase a broad selection of on-demand content and detailed special features covering all 30 MLS clubs.
MLS on FOX, TSN, and RDS
Returning for its 11th consecutive season, FOX Sports will broadcast 34 MLS games in 2025 in the U. S. , which includes 15 matches on FOX and 19 matches on FS1, with all FOX Sports broadcasts also offering Spanish-language coverage on FOX Deportes. The opening game on the FOX Sports lineup will feature LAFC hosting Minnesota United FC on Saturday, February 22 (4:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, FOX).
The complete schedule for TSN and RDS regular season matches, which will feature at least one match per week with an MLS Canadian club, will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.
On Saturday, May 10, the New York Red Bulls will welcome the LA Galaxy for a rematch of the 2024 MLS Cup at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
With the inclusion of San Diego FC as the league’s 30th club, the MLS schedule format will involve every MLS team competing in 34 regular season games, comprising 17 at home and 17 away. Clubs will face conference rivals twice (28 games), once at home and once away. Each club will play six different cross-conference opponents.
MLS to Pause for FIFA Club World Cup and Concacaf Gold Cup
MLS stadiums throughout the United States and Canada will be prominently featured, with 14 MLS venues hosting the inaugural 32-team FIFA Club World Cup and the 2025 Gold Cup, Concacaf’s premier men’s national team tournament. MLS will suspend regular season play from June 15-24 for the FIFA Club World Cup, an event that includes Inter Miami CF and Seattle Sounders FC, as well as the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
