Olivier Giroud signs for LAFC after two seasons with Milan

Oliver Giroud going to MLS has become a reality after the international agreed to move at the end of the season, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported. Giroud would leave AC Milan as a free-agent, being given a one season contract. 

The verbal agreement came in March but the deal has just been finalised. The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker will be joining his fellow French footballer Hugo Lloris, who has been living in Los Angeles since January this year.

This season, Giroud failed to lift another Serie A title for Milan as Internazionale secured the title with five games in hand. His best milestone for the San Siro-based club has been winning the scudetto in 2022 which was also his first season with Milan. 

“Olivier Giroud signs contracts as new LAFC player, ready for MLS new chapter after verbal agreement reached in March!” Romano posted on the X platform. “Contract until December 2025 set to be sealed in the next hours. Giroud will leave AC Milan as free agent. Here we go, confirmed.”

The Italian journalist added that all of the documents were completed today and Giroud is officially an LAFC player today. Romano wrote: “Documents are also signed. Giroud can be considered new LAFC player.”

During his time serving for Milan, Giroud has appeared in 127 games and scored 47 times.
