Mayank Yadav Injury Update: When will LSG Bowler Return to IPL 2025?
The Best Cricket League in the World, the IPL 2025, is set to begin on March 22, with all of the players and their fans eager to witness the live action of this carnival. However, just before that, we started getting unfortunate news of players from various franchises withdrawing their names from the league as usual due to injuries and other personal reasons.
Likewise, the reports suggested that The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) top pacers, Mayan Yadav, will miss the first half of the IPL 2025, which is one of the most serious blows to LSG even before the new IPL season begins.
Mayank Yadav Injury Update
Mayank made his international debut in the T20I series against Bangladesh, when he was selected as a front-line bowler for the Indian squad. Unfortunately, Mayank had a lumbar stress injury in his debut match, and as a result, he left the series in the middle and underwent rehab to recover from the injury.
Currently, his physical condition is better than before, but he is not fully fit to join the LSG squad. However, he has resumed bowling practice at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and he is expected to become fit and likely to join the LSG squad in the second half of the IPL; however, the LSG management has not confirmed when he will join the LSG camp.

Mayank Yadav’s Impact on LSG Squad
The 22-year-old young and fiery pacer was retained by the Lucknow Super Giants management in the IPL 2025 retention at a whopping amount of 11 crores. He is set to lead the LSG bowling attack in the IPL 2025, with other bowlers like Avesh Khan and Akash Deep.
LSG new bowling mentor Zaheer Khan believed in Mayank by backing him up with the impressive performance that he showed in the IPL 2024, where he ticked nearly 150 km/h and bamboozled all the batsmen against whom he bowled and won many player of the match awards for his excellent bowling performances.
Mayank helped LSG to win a couple of matches solely due to his bowling abilities, but due to an unfortunate injury and LSG’s bad luck, this star bowler will be unavailable for the first two weeks of the IPL, which will undoubtedly have an impact on LSG’s performance.
In his absence, LSG management and captain Rishabh Pant must find a solution as quickly as possible because the IPL 2025 begins in a few days, with Lucknow Super Giants’s opening match against Delhi Capitals is scheduled to play on March 24, 2024 at the ACA-VDCA stadium in Visakhapatnam.
