“I am not involved, I don’t know nothing”: Mauricio Pochettino Backs Out from Commenting on Conor Gallagher’s Chelsea Future
Mauricio Pochettino is clueless about Conor Gallegher’s future but hints that the player is in his plans
Mauricio Pochettino was inquired about the future of his midfielder Conor Gallagher after Chelsea defeated Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge in their recent Premier League outing. The Blues boss kind of docked away from the question but instinctively hinted that he wants the midfielder in his team, leaving the ultimate decision on the club and the player.
Pochettino reportedly stated – “I am not involved, I don’t know nothing (anything). But you can see he’s in my starting XI”. The Argentine manager further asserted – “Gallagher’s future is not my decision. It needs to be resolved between the club and Conor”. From the statements of the 52-year-old, it can be drawn out that even though Gallagher is quite fittingly in his plans progressing ahead, he doesn’t wish to interfere with the decision regarding the midfielder’s future at the club.
Conor Gallagher has been linked with a move to Chelsea’s rival Premier League club Tottenham, with the midfielder just having one year left on his current contract with the Blues that ends in June 2025. However, the Englishman has started to knit together a decent run of performances lately with Poch giving him the added responsibility of the Captain’s armband. It remains to be seen how things shape up for the 24-year-old with few games to go in the season.
