Will Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea part ways next season?

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is not afraid to get the sack and admits he will not be heartbroken if he gets the boot. The Argentine manager believes him and his coaching staff will have “one week” to decide on their future at Chelsea.

There have been rumours circulating that the Blues’ boss could be forced out of Chelsea at the end of the season despite the squad’s resurgence in recent weeks. Pochettino was appointed as Chelsea’s head coach at the start of the season and will have his performance reviewed days after the Bournemouth game.

The former Spurs manager has endured a turbulent season at the West London club but has managed to take the squad forward in the last few weeks of the Premier League campaign. Chelsea have lost only one of their last 12 games, giving them a realistic chance to finish in the European spots.

According to reports, he retains the support of the dressing room, with players keen for much-needed stability over another managerial change in the summer.

Will Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea part ways later this month?

The former PSG manager has endured a mixed season at Chelsea despite leading the team to the EFL Cup final, where they were beaten by Liverpool. But Chelsea’s drastic league form has questioned Pochettino’s position at the West London outfit.

The Blues have produced 15 wins, nine draws and 11 defeats in 35 Premier League matches this season. Despite a positive turnaround in form in recent weeks, the head coach will make a final decision on his future when both parties meet for an end-of-season review.

During a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Nottingham Forest, Pochettino addressed his future at the club.

“I am so comfortable and you know us after more than 10 years of working here in England. We are so comfortable,” Pochettino explained on Friday morning.

“It is true that in the last few months, like we were talking, that question is always coming. You need to kill the rumours if that’s not true, if not the rumour is there for a different strategy.

“If you ask is it affecting me? It is not affecting me. Is it affecting the people working with? I think yes because in the end you can kill the rumour, sack me and that’s not a problem. It happens in a lot of clubs.”
