Marseille ‘very close’ to sealing Mason Greenwood transfer from Manchester United
French giants Marseille have been given the green light to seal the transfer of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
Marseille have beaten tough competition from the likes of Juventus and Lazio for the winger, who has also been in demand from other clubs across Europe.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old has given Marseille the green light for the transfer and will now travel to France to undergo a medical before finalising his move to France.
According to The Athletic, the 22-year-old still has to undergo a medical before the transfer can be completed; but a move is closer than ever before. The report adds Greenwood has accepted the transfer verbally.
Marseille are said to pay £23.3 million ($30.1m), with £3.4m ($4.4m) in add-ons to Manchester United for Greenwood. The Red Devils will also get a major share of any future sale of the player, with Fabrizio Romano previously claiming this would be close to 50 per cent.
