Manchester United 1-1 FC Twente Player Ratings as the Red devils salvage a draw after poor attacking show

Manchester United began their Europa League campaign with a 1-1 draw against FC Twente at the Old Trafford as the team was not clinical enough in front of goal. It shows another slow start in Europe after a disappointing campaign in the UEFA Champions League last season. Christian Eriksen gave them the lead but it was cancelled out by Sam Lammers.

The Red devils had a slow start to the game and was getting into a dominant stature. Marcus Rashford was combining well with Joshua Zirkzee and was effective from the left flank for United. Diogo Dalot was also making runs on that flank and in one such case it opened up for Eriksen who fired the first goal of the game.

FC Twente did have some early threats for United but things did not materialise. In the second half, Eriksen was dispossessed and Lammers drove in with the ball to put it past Onana to ensure a point for his team.

Diogo Dalot: 7.1/10- The Portuguese full back went up and down the pitch contributing both in defence and in attack. He was involved in eight recoveries for his team and created three chances for his team.

Lisandro Martinez: 7.4/0- He had a decent game and was involved in seven defensive actions. Was given a yellow card after he committed a late challenge outside the penalty area, flying through the side of Stejin.

Harry Maguire: 7.5/10- He played a fair game at the heart of the defence. He was involved in six defensive actions and also had four shots on goal.

Noussair Mazraoui: 8.1/10- He had close to a perfect game as he rarely put a foot wrong. He was great at both sides of the pitch. He was involved in seven defensive actions and created a chance for his team.

Midfielders

Christian Eriksen: 7.2/10- Scored the opening goal for Manchester United. An open ball falls to him inside the box and he made no mistake to place it in the top corner. He also created three chances for his team.

Manuel Ugarte: 7.6/10- He had a decent game while controlling the midfield. He acted as a bridge between the defence and the attack. He also had a shot on goal which went far wide.

Bruno Fernandes: 7.5/10- The club captain had a fair game with three shots on goal. He also created a chance for his team.

Attackers

Marcus Rashford: 7.6/10- He was really effective from the left side of the attack. In total he had two shots on goal which were blocked by the defenders. He also created two chances for his team.

Amad Diallo: 7.0/10- He had a good game as he had one shot on goal and created a chance for his team.

Joshua Zirkzee: 6.8/10- He had an average game as the striker of the team. In total he had two shots out of which one was on target and also created a chance for his team.

Alejandro Garnacho: 6.1/10- He entered the fray to replace Amad Diallo in the 67th minute of the game and had one shot on goal.

Kobbie Mainoo: 6.4/10- He replaced Christian Eriksen on the pitch and gave a decent display. He created a chance for his team and was involved in two defensive actions.

Mason Mount: 6.2/10- He came on to replace Zirkzee and did not create much of an impact in attack.

Erick Ten Hag: 7/10- The manager tried to change things in the European competition for the red devils but was not able to take more than a point from the game. Tactically he could have done better considering the substitutions did not play a greater role during the last moments of the game.

Max Bruns: 6.2/10- Had an average game at the heart of the defence. Was the first player to be booked after he tried to stop Diallo, who was looking to burst away from the Twente defence.

Mees Hilgers: 7.0/10- He played well alongside Bruns as he was involved in 15 defensive actions and recovered three balls for his team.

Bart van Rooij: 7.6/10- He played the best among all the defenders in his team. He had an effort from a long distance which was very much on target. He was involved in seven defensive actions for his team.

Michel Vlap: 6.1/10- He acted as an orchestrator but struggled to gather his footing in front of Manuel Ugarte. He created a chance for his team and also was involved in four defensive actions.

Mitchell van Bergen: 6.5/10- The left winger had a decent game in attack as he was trying to do things on that flank.

Mathias Kjolo: 6.4/10- He replaced Michel Vlap at the heart of the midfield and was trying to create an impact.

Daan Rots: 5.9/10- Around the 60 minute mark he came on the pitch to replace Sem Stejin and was not that effective.
