Both Manchester United and Nice would be granted to play in Europe
According to UEFA regulation, two clubs owned by the same owners are not allowed to compete in the same UEFA competition. Speaking of the current situations, Manchester United sitting sixth the Premier League table, while Nice are going fifth in Ligue 1. Both clubs have a chance to qualify for Europa League next season if they can finish well ahead of the season.
But a report from DailyMail suggested that UEFA general secretary Theodore Theodoridis attended Manchester United’s game against West Ham on 4th February. He was not only there to watch the game but to talk about the situation with the Premier league outfit’s board.
Legal completion required for Manchester United
Despite having a green light to go for Europa League, United still have to prove several things. UEFA demanded the club to show the evidence that both clubs are not under the same owners.
