Manchester United still hopeful of Manuel Ugarte-Jadon Sancho swap
The 2024 summer transfer window enters its final 10-day stretch before it shuts down on the 30th of August. Manchester United’s search for a new central midfielder has amplified. They are willing to open a fresh set of talks this week to land Manuel Ugarte at Old Trafford after their backup target for the PSG star Sander Berge is heading to Fulham.
The two clubs are also looking at another possibility of including Jadon Sancho in a swap deal to successfully pull off the Ugarte transfer from the French capital in addition to a reduced transfer fee. This could be the final hope for United to secure Ugarte, who was left out of PSG’s first league match.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s IENOS still believes that the Parisians’ asking price of £51 million for the Uruguayan International is quite expensive. While the English club are open to selling Facundo Pellistri and Scott McTominay in the upcoming days to raise funds to align with FFP protocols.
Jadon Sancho seeks Regular minutes as uncertainty clouds over his future at Old Trafford.
Jadon Sancho’s future with Manchester United is still in question, despite the winger returning to first-team training and pre-season camp in the USA. Sancho was expected to restart his United spell freshly solving his feud with Erik Ten Hag, yet, he is not in the plans of the manager. Therefore as things stand, reports say that the England International is looking to move away from Manchester United to play regularly.
However, the asking price of £40 million for Sancho and high wages are making it difficult for clubs to offer a bid for him. Hence, the potential swap deal can be an ideal opportunity for the former Dortmund man to move somewhere else.
This season, the 24-year-old has only secured 7 minutes of action under his belt against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield match. Meanwhile, he was left out of the United’s matchday squad that played against Fulham in the 2024-25 Premier League opener at Old Trafford.
