Manchester United given hope in De Ligt transfer chase
After Erik ten Hag publicly confirmed this weekend that he wants to sign Matthijs De Ligt this summer, Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has now publicly stated that the Dutch defender could be on the move this summer.
“It is possible that a defender will still leave,” said Hoeness, who has been speaking in Germany today.
He added, “De Ligt is Dutch, the coach at Man Utd is Dutch. I would have no problem if he stays. Personally, I would not sell [Dayot] Upamecano.”
These comments look so convincing at face value that it almost puts a seal of approval from Bayern’s side over parting ways with the former Ajax centre-back.
