Manchester City Star Erling Haaland Joins Clash of Clans as Playable Character
Erling Haaland, the Manchester City star forward, has emerged as a surprise character in Clash of Clans, as reported by the BBC.
Erling Haaland joins Clash of Clans
Developer Supercell said that one of the most played mobile games worldwide, Clash of Clans, will feature an animated version of Haaland, who will take on the role of the Barbarian King in the game.
Being able to play as a character was “really cool,” according to Haaland, who is an avid gamer. According to the sources, the players will have the option of trying to destroy the Norwegian striker’s town or enlisting him to join them starting on Wednesday.
Players fight to construct their own villages and conduct raids on other players’ villages in order to gain more power. Since its release ten years ago, the game has been downloaded over two billion times.
What Haalnad Said?
Expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership, Haaland shared the game’s trailer on his social media platforms, describing his transition “from the pitch to the battlefield.”
The 23-year-old footballer, a self-professed fan of Clash of Clans, expressed his delight at being immortalized within the game, stating,
“I’ve been a huge fan of the game for a long time and know everything about it, so to appear as an in-game character is really cool.”
Stuart McGaw, general manager of Clash of Clans, hailed the collaboration as a dream scenario, emphasizing the team’s efforts to integrate one of the world’s top athletes into the fantasy world of the game.
Haaland’s foray into Clash of Clans follows his previous feature as the cover star of the EA FC 24 video game, formerly known as FIFA, further cementing his presence in the gaming world beyond the football pitch.
The integration of celebrities into video games is a growing trend, with recent tie-ins including Call of Duty featuring Nicki Minaj and Fortnite collaborating with artists such as Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish.
Haaland’s inclusion in Clash of Clans adds another dimension to the intersection of sports and gaming, captivating fans with the opportunity to engage with their favourite footballer in a new virtual arena.
