Jamal Musiala transfer: Manchester City join Liverpool in race for wonderkid
Manchester City are ahead of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain in chasing Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala’s signature next summer, The Independent reported. The youngster has been influential for Bayern’s midfield unit since breaking into the senior scene in 2020.
City, according to Independent, want Jamal Musiala as an option in the midfield area. Pep Guardiola has orbited Kevin De Bruyne as one of the best midfield masters in the world and lately, Phil Foden has also shown similar impact. Musiala is considered to be on the next line.
Jamal Musiala Transfer: Youngster is part of City’s bigger plan
The Stutgartt-born could be an addition to City’s fluid midfield area which is already filled with big superstars. City are also preparing bids for the likes of Lucas Paqueta from West Ham and Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise.
Pep Guardiola has been a Musiala’s admirer for a long time and the Spaniard is reportedly pushing City’s management to sign the player one way or another.
With only just turning 21 last February, Musiala still has a long road ahead of his career and Manchester City could be another top-performing side to keep him afloat in the top-flight competition. His contract with Bayern would expire in two years and paying a huge sum of cash would not be that concerning for City.
However, City could face a serious challenge from Bayern as the Bavarian-side club are reluctant to sell the players. “Jamal Musiala is NOT for sale,” said Bayern sporting director Max Eberl to SkySports. “He is supposed to become the face of FC Bayern in the future. Jamal is a player who brings extremely great joy, it’s our intention to make him the new face of Bayern.”
Musiala has appeared in 34 games this season, scoring 12 goals across the competitions. Bayern’s only trophy hope would be the Champions League as the league seems to be impossible to win.
