Former Man United Star Stirs Controversy with Comment on Rashford’s Aston Villa Debut

The England International Marcus Rashford made his sparkling debut for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa after securing a January deadline day move to the Midland club from Man United on loan till the end of the 2024/25 campaign with an option to move permanently in the summer.

The 27-year-old was brought in the second half for 24 minutes alongside fellow joined Marco Asensio during Aston Villa’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspurs in the fourth-round clash of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Rashford was eye-catching during his cameo playing down the wings with his dribbles while showing intensity and reminiscent of his prime form impressing the Villa fans with his energy on his debut appearance at Villa Park.

Post-match, Marcus Rashford displayed to his delight thanking the Villians for the warm welcome the attacker received from the Supporters. “thank you for the warm welcome, great team performance,” he wrote on his Instagram with Feel-good Matchday clicks.

His fellow Man United teammate Jadon Sancho commented on his one-word reaction in comments of Rashford’s recent post, “freedom” with a high-five and raised hand emoji. Sancho’s response has made fans believe, that the winger has delivered a subtle dig at Man United in context to their respective eviction saga.

Both Rashford and Sancho are on loan spells for this season from Old Trafford, the forwards have gone through an identical situation and share a common Journey.

In August 2023, The former Dortmund man was axed from the Red Devil squad following a feud with Erik Ten Hag and was sidelined from the action for a prolonged period before his move to the Bundesliga on loan in January 2024.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim fell out of favour with Rashford and was omitted from the squad due to performance-related concerns and did not make any appearances for the United since Manchester Debry in December 2024 forcing him to move out on loan.
