Man United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite continues to excel, but Everton stubborn on price
Jarrad Branthwaite Transfer as Everton rates the player higher than the Red Devils’ valuation
The Premier League club Man United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite has been a long-standing debate in the football transfer market. The Red Devils were linked with the Everton player a couple of months back in March. However, recent reports in the English media indicate that Man United have intensified their interest in the Toffees’ England-born defender.
It was termed by ‘Sky Sports’ earlier that amidst the link-ups with United, Everton reportedly values Branthwaite at a hefty sum of around £60-70 million. A more recent report by ‘Mirror Football’ states that the Toffees have made United’s hierarchy aware of the fact that their attempt to land the English defender at a cheaper price will not serve them any purpose.

The report further listed that the Merseyside club values the 21-year-old around twice the mark of £40 million (the price at which the Red Devils are looking to get the deal done). With the future of some of the players from Man United and the club’s current manager Erik ten Hag still up in the air, it can be assessed that under the minority ownership of INEOS, the club might be active in the upcoming transfer window looking to rebuild.
One of the pivotal figures from the Red Devils’ hierarchy in the form of Raphel Varane is set to leave the club after the expiration of his contract this summer, which does leave a hole to be filled in the first-team squad. Also, despite being selected in England’s Euro 2024 squad, Harry Maguire’s future at the club also remains under scrutiny.
All of this does make space for a talented player like Branthwaite in the defensive line for the Old Trafford-based side. The fact that the Evertonian is just 21 years old at this stage, Man United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite does make a lot of sense at this stage in time.

Jarrad Branthwaite in the 2023-2024 Premier League season for Everton
Jarrad Branthwaite stood out as one of the most impressive performers for Everton in their 2023-2024 Premier League campaign. He did emerge as a shining light for the club amidst a season marked by points deduction scenarios regarding their FFP and PSR violations of the league. The English defender earned himself the Players’ Player of the Season honor for his consistent performances throughout the campaign.
In his 35 appearances for the Toffees in the most recently concluded English top-flight season, Branthwaite started over 90 percent of these matches. Branthwaite notably stood as one of the most reliable players for Sean Dyche in their fight to avoid any late relegation scenarios. The center-back did score three times in the season as well. One of his goals for Everton came against their local rivals, Liverpool in a crucial Merseyside Derby.
