Manchester United fans agree with Carragher’s damning Rashford analysis
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher made some stern analysis of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, ahead of the clash between the two sides on Sunday at Old Trafford. Carragher was commentating on the big game prior to which he shared his thoughts about the Red Devils winger. He does not seem to rate the Englishman much.
“I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, if Marcus Rashford is Manchester United’s best attacking player, they’re not winning a league or a European Cup,” Carragher said before the beginning of the game. It is noteworthy that he has been consistent in demanding more out of Rashford over the last year or so.
Manchester United fans seem to agree. A number of them reacted to this statement on social media, saying that it was sad but true. While Carragher’s comments might well be true, there’s no denying that United needs more quality all over the pitch.
Against Liverpool on Sunday, they got destroyed at home by a 3-0 margin. It could very easily have been more. Luis Diaz scored a brace while Mo Salah continued his ridiculous record against Manchester United with yet another goal. Arne Slot convincingly outdid United’s Erik Ten Hag despite being new to the Liverpool bench.
Rashford was one of the better United players on the night. He created 2 big chances which his teammates failed to convert. He is yet to open his account this season after managing just 8 goals last season. He had scored 30 in all competitions in 2022/23. Inconsistency has been a consistent problem for him.
