Even after being named in the final shortlist of players for the Euro 2024 squad by Gareth Southgate, the England international Luke Shaw is still recovering from his previous hamstring blow. The Man United defender hasn’t played a game at the highest level since February 2024.
He didn’t feature in England’s opening clash of the Euro’s 17th edition against Serbia played at the Veltins-Arena in Germany. Now all the hopes of the Three Lions’ fans are lingering towards the news of him being probably able to make it to the playing eleven for the Nation’s upcoming clash against Denmark on Thursday, June 20th.

However, as per reports from ‘Sky Sports’ and ‘Metro’, the player didn’t feature in the first-team group training of England on Wednesday, a day before their group C fixture against Denmark. Further, the reports pointed out that, Shaw was involved in an individual training session. Meanwhile, the Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate has reportedly confirmed that the 28-year-old left-back won’t be part of the playing eleven against Denmark.
“Luke won’t be involved tomorrow. He’s actually on track for where we thought he would be originally. We were hoping a couple of days ago he might accelerate that bit but he needs a bit more volume of work”, Southgate stated in his pre-match conference. It remains to be seen whether Luke Shaw can feature in England’s match against Slovenia on June 25th.
