Liverpool wants to sign a holding midfielder in January

The Reds were keen to sign a defensive midfielder in the summer transfer window and were linked with several players until the deadline day. A deal for Martin Zubimendi didn’t work out as the midfielder didn’t want to leave Real Sociedad in the summer.

Liverpool have struggled to sign a defensive midfielder since the departure of Fabinho, an area that is in desperate need of reinforcements. They will be looking to sign a quality defensive midfielder when the transfer window reopens in January.

It would be interesting to see if Liverpool can find quality options in the winter transfer window.
