Liverpool 3-1 Leicester City player ratings as the Reds come from behind to secure full three points against the Foxes

Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points after defeating Leicester City at the Anfield Stadium on Thursday in the 18th game of the Premier League. Mohammed Salah scored his 16th goal of the season as the Reds came from behind to defeat Leicester City 3-1 on the Boxing day.

It was with the help of Jordan Ayew that the visitors went ahead in the game around the sixth minute of the game. The Reds continuously knocked on the door but it was until Cody Gakpo‘s curling strike ended up behind the goalkeeper to given them an equaliser. Liverpool continued their run as just after the first half Curtis Jones gave them the lead. Mohammed Salah scored the final goal to make sure that the Reds take away full three points from their home stadium. Alexis Mac Allister was the star of the game with two assists and huge contributions in building the attacks.

Goalkeeper

Alisson Becker: 6.5/10- He did not have to make a single save in the game but he conceded a goal in the early minutes of the game.

Defenders

Andy Robertson: 7.8/10- The Scottish left-back had a decent game contributing both in defence as well as in attack. He maintained a passing accuracy of 93 percent and created two attacking opportunities. He was involved in 10 recoveries for Liverpool.

Virgil van Dijk: 7.6/10- The Dutch defender capped a solid defensive display maintaining a passing accuracy of 98 percent. He was involved in nine defensive actions and made four clearances for Liverpool.

Joe Gomez: 7.7/10- The English centre-back had a good game at the heart of the defence. He helped the team in creating two opportunities in attack and was involved in seven defensive actions. He made six recoveries for his team and three clearances.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 7.7/10- His passing acumen to find the attackers had been in display again in this game. He put in a great cross for Salah to score but struck the top of the post. In total he had three shots and three chances that he created for Liverpool. He was also involved in five defensive actions.

Alexis Mac Allister: 8.5/10- He was substituted at the fag end of the game. He capped a great performance in attack for Liverpool maintaining a passing accuracy of 88 percent. He assisted the first two goals for Liverpool.

Ryan Gravenberch: 6.9/10- He was substituted around the 85th minute and maintained a passing accuracy of 96 percent. He did well by orchestrating the game in the midfield and creating couple of chances in attack.

Curtis Jones: 7.7/10- The English attacking midfielder had a decent game in the midfield. He has taken two shots on goal and helped Liverpool in the attack. Scored the second goal for his team. Mac Allister delivered a low ball across the goal only for Jones to guide it into the net.

Attackers

Cody Gakpo: 8.7/10- Had a great game on the left side of the pitch. In total he had three shots and helped the team in creating three attacking opportunities. The Dutchman’s looping, curling shot from about 20 yards out found the back of the net to equalise the scoring for Liverpool. He assisted Salah’s goal.

Mohamed Salah: 8.5/10- The Egyptian right winger is excellent at what he does. He had five shots in total and helped Liverpool by creating two attacking opportunities. He scored the third goal for his team.

Darwin Nunez: 6.5/10- The Uruguayan had a fair game in attacking maintaining pressure in the opposition penalty box. He had four shots on goal but was not able to convert half chances.

Substitutes

Dominik Szoboszlai: 5.8/10- He substituted Curtis Jones around the 77th minute and capped a poor performance for the 12 minutes.

Diogo Jota: 6.0/10- The Portuguese midfielder came on in place of Darwin Nunez and did not have much of an impact.

Jakub Stolarczyk: 6.0/10- The Polish goalkeeper did not have a great game conceding three goals in front of Liverpool’s attack. He made four saves in total for Leicester City and his distribution was decent.

Defenders

Victor Kristiansen: 5.6/10- The 22-year-old did not have a great game as he seemed nervy at times on the ball. Mohammed Salah put a lot of pressure on him making him a lot more nervous. He was involved in seven defensive actions for his team.

Jannik Vestergaard: 6.2/10- Capped a fair defensive display maintaining a passing accuracy of 84 percent. He was involved in 13 defensive actions and made four recoveries for his side.

Conor Coady: 5.8/10- Had a poor game in front of the goalkeeper but was good at passing. He often made mistakes by giving away the ball. He was involved in 11 defensive actions and made seven clearances for Leicester City.

James Justin: 6.1/10- The left back had a fair game contributing in both defence as well as attack despite pressure from the likes of Gakpo, Trent. He had two shots for Leicester City and was involved in 11 defensive actions.

Bilal El Khannouss: 6.3/10- The attacking midfielder has a normal game maintaining a passing percentage of 94 percent. He had a shot on goal and created couple of attacking opportunities.

Boubakary Soumare: 5.5/10- The French midfielder was awful as he failed to gain his feet in the midfield after tremendous pressure from Curtis Jones, Gravenberch. He was involved in seven defensive actions.

Harry Winks: 6.0/10- Had an ordinary game as the defensive midfielder. He did try to orchestrate the game but failed and was involved in four defensive action

Stephy Mavididi: 7.2/10- He was taken off around the 87th minute and maintained a passing accuracy of 85 percent. He provided an assist by providing a great cross at the centre of the box.

Jordan Ayew: 7.9/10- The right winger tried exploiting the space left by Robertson but was not able to utilise much for Leicester City. After receiving a low cross towards the penalty spot, he blocks Robertson’s tackle and fires his shot past Allisson.

Patson Daka: 5.9/10- The Striker did not have a great game as he was not able to register a single shot on goal for Leicester City.

Substitutes

Facundo Buonanotte: 5.6/10- Bilal El Khannous was taken off to bring him in the midfield and capped a very poor dispaly.

Oliver Skipp: 6.2/10- He was brought on to replace Harry Winks in the midfield and did not have much of an impact.
