Liverpool’s decision to hike up ticket prices for the 2024-25 season has ignited fury among loyal supporters with Spirit of Shankly slamming the club for disregarding fan input and pricing out devoted followers.

Spion Kop 1906 the group responsible for the vibrant banners and flags on the Kop has taken a decisive stance by opting for flagless stands to send a powerful message to the club’s owners.

The Group Statement

In a statement, the group expressed disappointment in the club’s stance on ticket prices and declared solidarity with other fan groups in their protest. The group statement stated:

“We are disappointed in the football club’s decision towards ticket prices for 24-25,”

“We will pay our respects to the 97 with Hillsborough flags only at this weekend’s league match (against Crystal Palace on Sunday), as always with it being the closest game to April 15.”

“There is still a chance for the club to hold some positive dialogue with the Supporters’ Board in time for Saturday’s meeting. Until then the supporters have one message: No to ticket price increases.”

Despite Liverpool citing a surge in operating costs for Anfield fans remain steadfast in their resistance demanding meaningful dialogue with the club’s hierarchy and vowing to stand united against unjust price hikes.
