Liverpool keen on signing forward with £85-million release clause

Liverpool have reportedly made checks on Viktor Gyokeres as they look to bolster the squad. However, the Reds are not planning to activate his £85 million release clause in his Sporting Lisbon contract.

As per a report by Mark Brus, the Swedish forward has been the latest addition to Arne Slot’s wish list. The manager is looking to bring in an attacker amid reports that Luis Diaz could be on his way out.

Arsenal are also interested in signing the forward as they are looking to bring in reinforcements too. He was previously linked with Chelsea, while Tottenham were also said to be keeping tabs on the forward.

Liverpool are understood to have made checks on Viktor Gyokeres this summer, although a new striker is not currently thought to be a priority for the Reds [via Fabrizio Romano's Daily Briefing]
