Liverpool join the race for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie

The Reds have joined the race for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie, who has been the subject of interest from several European clubs in this summer transfer window. The South American centre-back has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga after a sensational campaign with Xabi Alonso’s side.

The 22-year-old defender’s contract with the Bundesliga champions expires in the summer of 2027 and he could be an ideal acquisition for Liverpool who are yet to sign a defender after losing Joel Matip as a free agent.

Leverkusen are not considering the defender’s departure, but could be convinced with a lucrative proposal for the South American defender.
