Liverpool Injury Update: Jurgen Klopp provides latest news on Mo Salah and two others ahead of Man United clash

Manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered a Liverpool injury update ahead of the Reds’ FA Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester United on March 17.

Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference, the German seemed optimistic about three of his players ahead of the next game.

As the Reds gear up to make the short trip to Manchester to face United, Jurgen Klopp has provided a Liverpool injury update, with focus on Mohamed Salah.

The manager was optimistic about the Egyptian’s involvement, as well as midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. However, he was sceptical about defender Ibrahima Konate.

“Mo Salah is definitely ready for the game against Man United. Ibou Konaté didn’t train today, will be a tight race which we will probably lose. Gravenberch trained again today so should be ready.”

Salah played the entire 90 mins in Liverpool’s 6-1 demolition of Sparta Prague on March 14, providing a hat-trick of assists and scoring one goal. He will start the game against the Red Devils.

Gravenberch has been out with an ankle injury and last featured in the EFL Cup final against Chelsea. He, too, will be fit to be considered for the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Klopp rounded off the Liverpool injury update with news on Konate, who last featured in the Reds’ 5-1 first-leg win against Sparta Prague, and is a few weeks away from making his return.

Liverpool’s game against Manchester United will take place on Sunday, March 17.

The Reds’ FA Cup run so far

Liverpool made a great start to their FA Cup campaign, defeating Premier League rivals Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium in Round 3. They then brushed aside Norwich with a 5-2 win at Anfield in Round 4, before defeating Southampton 3-0 at home in Round 5.

The Reds have won eight FA Cups in their decorated history, but have won at very irregular intervals. Their last triumph came in the 2021-22 season as they defeated Chelsea after penalties.

However, considering it is Jurgen Klopp’s last season at the helm, the players will look to give the long-serving German a good send-off with another piece of silverware.
