Liverpool Injury: Latest on Nunez, and Robertson ahead of Brighton clash
Liverpool injury problems have gone from bad to worse since the international break as they have a long list of players on the treatment table ahead of the crucial Premier League clash against Brighton on Sunday (Mar 31). Liverpool FC, second in the table on goal difference can go top of the Premier League standings temporarily with a win on Sunday, but will have to do without key players like Darwin Nunez, Andy Robertson, and others. Despite the injury issues within the squad, the Reds will be expected to win the match as we take a look at their causality list.
Liverpool Injury News
Hampered by injuries to key players during the season, the Reds had suffered fresh blows before the international break when Darwin Nunez left the Old Trafford pitch with a hamstring problem. The injury saw him withdraw from the Uruguay squad during the international break and is unlikely to feature in Sunday’s match. His unavailability will be a big miss for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they have key fixtures to come in the Europa League and the Premier League in the next few weeks.
Andy Roberston is another player unlikely to be on the team bus having got injured playing for Scotland against Northern Ireland on Tuesday. He was seen limping off the field raising concerns on his availability for the crucial run of fixtures. Liverpool FC are set to play Manchester United (Premier League), Atlanta and other teams during a crucial run down and Robertson’s miss will be a huge factor.
Alison will be yet another first-team player who will not feature against the Seagulls as he continues his rehabilitation from muscle injury. He got injured in February and has been since suffering from a muscle issue that has kept him out for the last couple of months. His deputy Caoimhin Kelleher has been capable, but Alison’s experience would be a handy factor during the business end of the season. Brighton’s game comes too early for him and will have to be on cheerleader’s duty for Sunday’s clash at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jota are also on the treatment table
Since mid-February, Liverpool FC right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been sidelined due to a knee ligament injury. Even if he is feeling better, Klopp stated that he has “a chance” of playing the week following the international break, therefore he is unlikely to play against Brighton.
For Diogo Jota, he sustained his knee injury against Brentford in February, Klopp issued a dire diagnosis, stating that he would be sidelined for “months.” The Portuguese striker will undoubtedly miss the match against Brighton, but Klopp offered him the same opportunity as Alexander-Arnold to play again the following week, so he might be back for the April 7 match against Manchester United.
Doubts – Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold
Out of Brighton clash – Andy Robertson, Joel Matip, Alisson, Stefan Bajcetic, Diogo Jota
