Liverpool have their eyes set on signing Atletico Madrid target Matt O’Riley
Celtic star Matt O’Riley is being subject to intense interest over a transfer from Liverpool.
O’Riley has been featuring for Celtic under former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who has been full of praise for the 23-year-old midfielder. Rodgers said, “He (O’Riley) is a wonderful footballer and he is ambitious and he wants to be better and improve and I am really pleased for him.”
Reports by journalist Rudy Galetti confirm that Liverpool face competition from Atalanta and Atletico Madrid for the midfielder’s signature. “Matt O’Riley has been included on the lists of some European clubs,” Galetti states. “Atalanta is the team that moved first for him, but the race for the Celtic player is still open. Liverpool and Atletico are well-informed about the situation of the Danish midfielder.”
According to reports, O’Riley is valued at £23 million, which could be a very smart deal for the Reds.
