Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will now be transformed into Arne Slot’s Liverpool going in the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Liverpool’s 2023/24 season was full of highs and lows. Jurgen Klopp aimed to restore Liverpool’s glory after a poor previous season. Despite early challenges such as losing key players Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi clubs, Klopp’s team started strong in the Premier League.

The Reds kicked off their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea, followed by five consecutive wins. However, controversy struck in a match against Tottenham in late September. A disallowed goal and two red cards led to a 2-1 defeat prompting a strong reaction from Liverpool and debates about VAR.

Despite these setbacks Liverpool enjoyed a 14-game unbeaten streak climbing to the top of the table during winter. Injuries forced Klopp to rely on young talents like Conor Bradley and Jarell Quansah.

Unfortunately, the unbeaten run ended against Arsenal in February and a tough April saw Liverpool’s form dip. They were knocked out of the Europa League by Atalanta and lost crucial Premier League matches against Crystal Palace and Everton.

In the end Liverpool secured a top-four finish and won the Carabao Cup but missed out on further silverware.

Klopp’s tenure ended with the season and Arne Slot took over as head coach. Slot also admired Klopp’s style and plans to maintain a similar playing approach while bringing his own ideas.

The summer transfer window will be key for Slot to strengthen the squad as they defiantly need to replace departing Joel Matip. Lutsharel Geertruida could follow Slot from his previous club.
