Livepool continue their pursuit of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad: David Ornstein

As per David Ornstein, Liverpool are continuing their pursuit of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. As per Ornstein, a player moving the other way is not the focus of the deal at the moment. The Reds are reportedly looking to convince Zubimendi to leave Sociedad whereas the Basque club are looking convince him to stay.

As per Ornstein, the delay regarding a deal is mainly due to the structure of the deal. He reported on X (formerly Twitter):

Martin Zubimendi is often touted as one of the best pivot midfielders in the world. He has shown his quality for Sociedad and also deputized briliiantly after Rodri was forced off during Spain’s Euro 2024 final against England. Zubimendi was previously on the radar of Arsenal and Barcelona. However. Liverpool are the club linked with him at the moment as Arne Slot looks to bolster his ranks ahead of the upcoming season.
