Lens Target Chelsea’s Malang Sarr as New Centre-Back

French club Lens have shown strong interest in signing Malang Sarr from Chelsea.

Initial talks have taken place between the clubs and Chelsea and they are open to letting the defender leave. The final decision rests with Sarr and his representatives.

According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Lens see Sarr as a key addition to their defense.

Sarr who spent the last season on loan is one of several players Chelsea are looking to offload as new manager Enzo Maresca begins to shape his squad.

With pre-season training just starting Maresca faces the challenge of trimming a bloated squad that includes numerous returning loanees.

As Chelsea prepares for their upcoming tour in America decisions about player futures are imminent. For Sarr, a move to Lens could provide regular playing time and a fresh start in Ligue 1.
