Chelsea injury updates after win over Tottenham Hotspur- Latest on Reece, Sterling and Chilwell
The Blues secured a respectable 2-0 win over London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night with goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson. Mauricio Pochettino’s side remained unscathed on the night and several first-team players returned to training last week.
Before the game against Spurs, both Thiago Silva and Axel Disasi were ruled out owing to their groin injuries which would be a major blow for Pochettino as the duo played crucial roles in the latter part of this campaign. Christopher Nkunku and Levi Colwill were involved in full-team training and could see action in Chelsea‘s next game against West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend.

Latest Chelsea Injury Update
Reece James Injury Update – The Chelsea captain has been out for the majority of the season due to a hamstring injury and has begun partial training following an extended period on the sidelines. James is expected to return to action at the end of this month.
Raheem Sterling Injury Update– The England international is out with a back injury and could potentially return in the next matchday squad.
Enzo Fernandez Injury Update– The 2022 World Cup winner has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after undergoing a groin surgery due to an ongoing hernia issue. The 23-year-old will stay at Chelsea for rehabilitation and is poised to make a return for the Copa America later this year.
Malo Gusto Injury Update– The French international is still undergoing his rehabilitation program on his knee and his return is still unknown.
Ben Chilwell Injury Update– He was out for the clash against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur. No updates on his return.
Carney Chukwuemeka Injury Update– The summer signing has struggled with knee injuries throughout this season and has featured in 12 games across all competitions. He is currently undergoing a rehabilitation programme for his knee.
Robert Sanchez Injury Update– Chelsea’s No.1 goalkeeper has been out for a while now and his return is still unknown.
Lesley Ugochukwu Injury Update – The midfielder’s last appearance came on Christmas Eve and has returned to partial team training last week. No potential return date for the French footballer.
Romeo Lavia Injury Update– The £53m midfielder played only 32 minutes of competitive football before getting sidelined for the rest of the season with a thigh injury. Lavia earlier spent four months on the periphery with an ankle injury.
Wesley Fofana Injury Update– The French center-back suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the summer and hasn’t featured this season. Fofana has returned to light training at Cobham but is still a long way from returning to first-team action.
